My daughter was a surprise.
After having my two boys, I decided I didn’t want any more children, so I had my tubes tied. Both my boys had serious health problems, and it was hard for me to carry the pregnancies to full term.
Fast forward eight years. I was busy all summer and wasn’t really paying attention to my cycle. One day, I realized I hadn’t had a period in a couple of months. I took a test, and it was positive. I couldn’t believe it.
My daughter was born, and she completed our family. I had a really smooth pregnancy with very few problems, and she was the first baby I was able to bring home from the hospital. (Both of my boys had to stay in the NICU for a while.)
