Meet Margaret. She’s our garden friend. She showed up last year with an injury on her eye. I put some bag balm on it (don’t come after me, I was trying to help). Her right eye is gone and she has a large dent in her head. I was sure she wasn’t going to live so I fed her some bugs and let her hang out on the patio. She ended up staying for a few months. She definitely doesn’t act like a usual garden snake. She’s fine with coexisting with me while I garden and doesn’t even mind the kids playing next to her. I’m so happy she came back this year bigger and better.
This is how she greets me. If I come up to her right side (the side without an eye) she will tilt her head backwards and look at me upside down. She will stay this way until I reposition myself to her left eye.
I have had a lot of people mention a children book about Margaret. If anyone has the skill to do this I would love to see it happen ♥️
