Mackenzie Shirilla was 17 when she crashed her car into a brick wall in Strongsville, Ohio, on the morning of July 31, 2022. In the car with her were her 20-year-old boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and 19-year-old Davion Flanagan.
Sadly, both Russo and Flanagan died at the scene, but Shirilla, though unconscious, survived thanks to the airbag.
Months later, after she recovered, Shirilla was questioned by the police. They discovered that the crash was not an accident. It turned out that Shirilla crashed the car on purpose to get rid of her boyfriend. Her phone records showed that she had been at the crash site days before. The car’s accelerator was pushed all the way down, and she never tried to brake.
Shirilla was charged with the m*urder of Russo and Flanagan, and in August, she was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
