A few months ago, I shared about my 9-year-old nephew, Nathan, who was diagnosed with leukemia. So much has happened since then, but we quickly learned that he would need a bone marrow transplant.

Incredibly, his little sister, Joslyn, was a perfect 100% match! After months of prayers and preparation, this miracle is finally happening.

Last week, Joslyn spent two days donating her stem cells to help save her brother. Tomorrow, on Valentine’s Day, Nathan will go into the hospital for his final and strongest round of chemo. This will wipe out everything in his system that might still have leukemia cells. Then, on 2/22/22, he will receive Joslyn’s stem cells. From that moment on, Joslyn’s blood will be in Nathan’s body, as her cells will create the bone marrow in his bones. They will be connected in an incredible way forever.

This is the hardest part of his treatment. After this chemo, Nathan will be in complete isolation because even a small cold could be very dangerous.

This family is full of superheroes—his mom and dad, who hold everything together, and his brave sister, Joslyn, who gave part of herself to save her brother.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks. We believe in miracles, and we know that with faith and love, Nathan will get through this.
