Here’s a photo that shows what makes a great police officer. Almost two years ago, a father took this photo while he was driving his son to rehab in St. Lawrence. The son didn’t want to go and took the father’s phone to call 911, saying he was being kidnapped. When the police pulled the father over, the son got out of the car, and the state trooper stood on the side of the road with him for about an hour, calmly talking to him and trying to convince him to go to rehab. The father was amazed by the sheriff and trooper’s care and dedication to helping with addiction. The officers were able to get the son in a car without using force, and they drove him from Lowville to St. Lawrence, about an hour and a half away. The officer even walked him into the rehab center. This is a tribute to public servants who truly care.
