Saleem Hasan was using the bus to run his errands

“Saleem Hasan was using the bus to run his errands. After getting off, he set his grocery bags down for just a moment when a woman he didn’t know walked by and suddenly took off with his groceries! Mr. Hasan is 74 years old and has trouble walking, so he couldn’t go after her. He doesn’t have much money, and those groceries, worth $85, were supposed to last him all month! Officer Franklin came to help and decided to visit the store where Mr. Hasan had bought his food. The store agreed to help, and using the receipt, Officer Franklin paid out of his own pocket to buy all the same groceries again. He then brought them to Mr. Hasan and even gave him a ride home! Mr. Hasan was very thankful. The Department said, “These are the kinds of things our officers do all the time to show people how much we care.” What a kind and generous act! Big thumbs up to Officer Franklin for his kindness and big heart! And shame on the woman who stole from an elderly man!”
